Hi.

I’m Laurie Gunning Grossman (she/her) — and I’m the curator behind Hold the Light Collective.

Through my editorial background and my experience as a podcast producer, it’s been my passion to share stories and ideas throughout my career. While I worked in the world of home design for many years, what I’m personally most interested in are the ways that we design ourselves, from the inside out.

As I mention in the Hold the Light podcast trailer, I could talk, read, or listen to anything that’s focused on personal and spiritual growth. Anything that can enrich and transform us.

Examples of topics I’m always talking about or being asked about by others include:

  • Finding positivity in life.

  • Spiritual growth and transformation.

  • Morning routines and rituals.

  • Meditation practices.

  • How to stay grounded.

  • What to do everyday to elevate our energy and to find peace and joy.

That’s why I’m holding space for this collective — this community of people who are interested in the many ways we can evolve and grow during our life experience.

My mission is to hold the light for the light holders of the world.

7 Fun Facts About Me

  1. I’m a Virgo sun, Capricorn moon, and Gemini rising. While I don’t know much about astrology, I do love getting updates from Chani Nicolas, Spirit Daughter, the AstroTwins, and more. I find it to be endlessly fascinating. I truly am an earth sign: rooted and grounded. I love routines, habits, and rituals — and keeping things organized.

  2. I played in a pop-folk duo called Dogwood Moon for many years — in my 20s— singing and playing bass, traveling the U.S. and some places in Europe. Also, my bandmate is now my husband— we met when I auditioned to be in his band. A year later we fell in love. (We spent a lot of together in that van.) Our touring days are long gone, however we still work together through our recording studio in our backyard. He’s what makes everything in my life sound so good. (Including every podcast I work on — Jonathan is a sound and music genius!)

  3. In addition to said husband, I am a mom to two teens — a son and a daughter — and I really adore my family. They are my favorite people ever. I include my dogs in this family love. An Airedale terrier named Murphy and a cute little mutt named Penny. Also, my son is gay, so I have huge love in my heart for the LGBTQ+ community, too.

  4. I have a passion for personal growth, self-inquiry, spirituality, and basically anything that keeps me engaged in forever expanding my life experience. TM is my meditation practice of choice, and it is one of the best gifts I’ve given to myself — learning this practice and doing it daily. I learned it right before the lockdown in March 2020 and it has been my saving grace. My meditation practice is what kicked off a deeper journey into spirituality and tapping into a greater consciousness. I also do Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations that are based in quantum physics and breaking the habit of being yourself.

  5. I have a morning practice that is a core part of who I am. It’s the favorite part of my day, the ritual I most look forward to. I wake at 5:00 AM to start my routine — that’s how much I love my mornings. Being up before the sun rises, in stillness and surrender, feels like magic.

  6. Nature is my favorite place to be and Mary Oliver is my favorite poet. Her take on the natural world is breathtaking. Camping? Hiking? Sitting on the beach at sunset? Let’s do it.

  7. In addition to my time in the music world, I’ve worked in media for 20 years, all in the editorial space around lifestyle content. In 2021, I made the shift to becoming a podcast producer, and created, produced, and hosted the podcast “Being Home With Hunker” for Hunker.com until March 2023. See all the episodes here.
